//To end the night on a positive note:  I take screencaps, like a LOT of screencaps, from every new episode, so if you guys have a specific ref pic you’re looking for, ask me and I may have it! I’d be happy to send it to you :3

//And just …for the last time, this blog is NOT a Moffat “hate” blog. I take issue with many of his writing tropes, yes, but there are also many things about his era that I cherish, such as
–Amy and Rory
–Twelve
–Missy
–the Van Gogh episode <3333333
–comments that support Thoschei being canon such as “she was my mancrush”

and so on. I just want to make that abundantly clear. Like, guys, I run a Jim Moriarty rp blog, from Moffat’s BBC Sherlock show.  I dunno how I can make this more abundantly obvious????

Anyway dropping the matter now, I’m just tired of repeating myself.  I know it’s really hard letting go of the era that’s ended, God do I know.  Just let’s try not to assume the worst about each other.

Amazing, and a little scary.

Fandom, please endeavor to learn that critique and hate are not synonymous, and act accordingly, or please do not follow my blogs.  You would be miserable in my blog space anyway; I’m an analyzer of media by profession (I am literally PAID to do it) and my content will not make you comfortable.   And I genuinely don’t want to make people miserable. Click unfollow. I will not take it personally.

Oh my glob……why I this so sad….the look in both of there eyes. Ahhh, I can’t do this right now

Because Moffat wanted to burn all character development while parading himself as a progressive for selfish reasons?

“Because Moffat wanted to burn all character development while parading himself as a progressive for selfish reasons?”

@eminenceoftime is my goddamn HERO

This was a good post before it wasn’t.

I’m going to only address your tags once in the hope of establishing peace, and let @eminenceoftime speak for herself.  This is not a “hate” post.  A hate post would be aimless and unfounded commentary, such as “Moffat and his whole era are garbage.”  Critique is “Moffat’s motivations for representing certain Othered social groups are validly called into question in this particular case.”  Critique is what eminenceoftime was writing and what I supported.

I’m honestly surprised to see you posting this when you have been a follower of my blog, which politely states in the About and Rules sections that I am frequently moffat critical (I also tagged my reblog as #moffat critical // which is my long-established critique tag). I make it very plain in several established parts of my blog that I criticize ALL of the Doctor Who showrunners when I feel that their work is problematic.

Stating that ALL critique is “just hate” is in fact a very damaging straw man argument.  When any media form, ANY media form, is above negative commentary, particularly when that commentary is appropriately tagged for filters and blacklists, it fosters a dangerous situation.  I’m an American (I don’t know your nationality), and honestly, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that attitude is part of what makes Donald Trump’s presidency so dangerous: and his claims that “the lying press/media” are “evil and awful” just because they disagree with his policies and his ethical code.   NO ONE should be thought to be above reproach, ever.

tl;dr You have every right not to want to see a showrunner you love treated critically, but when that critique is appropriately tagged so you DON’T have to see it, the responsibility is YOURS for getting away from what upsets you.

Perhaps it would make your fandom experience more enjoyable if you unfollowed one or both of us (in fact, honestly, in my case, I’ve made the decision for you, because you following me now makes me uncomfortable).  A gentle suggestion, since you are upset by the content of this post, and your fandom experience should be safe and enjoyable for you first and foremost.

Those who have interest, please browse my #meta tag, where you will find far more  detailed analyses of not only this scene, but the compelling relationship between Simm and Gomez’s remarkable, beautiful characters.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Best wishes, and I am sorry for any discomfort I have caused.

Sorry for clogging OP’s post with commentary.  I will not be reblogging this post again.
