You already know I love your portrayal of Simm’s Master. Just /feels/ like it’s him when I read what you write. You have this way of getting into his head and turning him into so much more than just ‘The Master’. So much more than what he was, or even what he became in the series. You give him this spark of life that is so rare in writing these days. So much depth, such complexity it’s honestly a wonder how you do it. 100% adore.

I really really REALLY work hard at it actually, and on the best days it’s really fun to do.  I don’t know what made me so protective of this character.  Probably the spell the actor casts over all his morally questionable roles.  I don’t think I’ve ever fully disliked any role he’s ever played.  But beyond John Simm’s charisma, there’s a lot of stuff about a character who’s got an invisible malady that alienates him from others and causes him great internal shame that I….find sympathetic and can even relate to.

So yes, it means a lot to hear this.  I know liking him is a challenge for most people, so I’m trying to make him likable and well-rounded without sacrificing his personality.

My honest opinion of your portrayal? It’s incredible. You write such a unique and lively version of The Master. I’m never without a smile when I see a response from you because I know, I /know/ it going to be a good time. If it’s angst fluff, or somewhere in between it’s always fun. You have a poetic style to your writing and you covey his emotions in that style wonderfully. Thank you for writing with me and thank you for bringing life to The Master. 💜💜💜💜💜

Lively is definitely an adjective I aim for, and I bust my ass on him, which is why I am so damn slow, because if I can’t give it 110% I just don’t write that day. Agh! You are too kind ilu!
