//Follower counts really are buckwild lmao, like a Ten I’m following was just saying. For one there is the issue of female muses being pitifully overshadowed by male, which I know from experience with my Diana Prince (about 100 followers after a year) and Thirteenth Doctor (58 followers after 4 weeks) blogs, and from watching three of my good friends struggle to get traction for their fandomless female OC’s. Meanwhile I JUST made a Good Omens Crowley blog YESTERDAY and he has 27 followers already, WITHOUT a blog promo!
For another, it’s so determimed by the aggression of the fanbase. My Loki blog has 2,500+ followers. My Jim Moriarty blog has 924 followers. I am rarely active on the latter. My Gabriel blog has close to 1,000 followers. These are in the MCU, BBC Sherlock, and SPN fandoms, respectively, and all wildly popular characters.
Then there’s this blog. For the past two years out of the nearly four that I’ve run this blog, I have struggled to reach 600 followers. I gain a trickle of four or five followers a month if I’m lucky. LMAO. And this is EASILY the blog I am on the most often. But it’s no longer fashionable to like Simm Master, so here we are. Similarly Rise of the Guardians has been dead for years, so my Pitch Black blog has dwindled followers down to about 150.
Buck. Wild.
