//Mkay the hype for s13 is really starting to overwhelm me.

But that said, is there anyone who is watching it tomorrow that can rabbit it for me? I don’t think I get that channel with my cable and I’m in the States. 😦

Why I Told My Daughter to Kick Your Son in the Balls

If teachers and principles won’t keep girls safe from males in school, it’s up to mothers.

Also note all the men shreking in the comments about how this behavior is misandrist because boys might get hurt by the girls they’re sexually assaulting

An example!

“I just was surprised that women/mothers today  have been actively teaching their daughters to aim for
the balls. Given how effective and overwhelming a physical attack it is,
given they are children. I mean it is the #1 thing taught in self
defense because it’s such an effective attack…it can permanently
damage…which, if used on like a rapist or abusive man, GOOD! But, it
just didn’t jive with me to suggest a little girl kick a boy in the
testicles as she isn’t aware of the gravity of what she is doing, and
could permanently damage him physically or mentally”.

OH NO THINK OF THE BOYS

We wouldn’t have to teach girls to kick boys in their nut sack, if fathers taught little boys to not assault girls.

I was in elementary school when boys started molesting and sexually harassing me.

When I was a kid my father taught me mixed martial arts including judo and one day at this park this boy that was a lot older and bigger than me messed with me and tried to grab me so I threw him onto the ground. His dad got mad but my father was proud of me and told the father his son shouldn’t have messed with me. I also have chased a boy with a huge tree branch before because he was sexually harassing the girls on the playground.

Boys are assholes to girls and we shouldn’t tell girls that they have to put up with that shit. Girls need to fight back because it’s the only way these boys learn

If they’re gonna start something, they’d better be prepared for the consequences. Sometimes that’s getting kicked in the balls, sometimes it’s being thrown to the ground, sometimes it’s being stabbed by a darling little fruit knife that the woman just happens to have on her.

If the world is going to tell boys that sexually assaulting girls is just “boys being boys” and “locker room talk” and “typical college party life” then girls need to learn to show boys that they won’t be putting up with that crap.

Kicking boys in the nuts and causing irreversible damage? Ohhh, girls will be girls 😊

Why I Told My Daughter to Kick Your Son in the Balls

//Sometimes I feel badly for John Simm because even if I had never gotten into Doctor Who, I would have considered him literally, legitimately, the best male actor of his time, and yet despite a tireless prolific career on the small screen and stage, despite being nominated for BAFTAs, he has almost no recognition outside the UK.  Meanwhile so many of his Whovian costars have gone on to become part of major American blockbuster film series or like Netflix dramas (Karen Gillan and David Tennant are in MCU, Tennant is also in the new Good Omens movie and was in Harry Potter movies, Matt Smith is in The Crown, and so on, and don’t get me wrong, they all DESERVE to be acclaimed too) and he’s still this unaffected introvert who “misses his kids” whenever he’s away too long and who says that his neighbors know who he is and don’t even care, and he seems…really content with this, actually, so I guess it’s okay, but a part of me wonders why his level of consistent excellence is never acknowledged.

It’s almost like he’s punished for being discerning and picky about his roles, and for always doing a good job. Like people are so used to him being so great at everything that they don’t even notice how skilled he is.

It burns my toast, man.

So… I’m starting a new non-fandom linked RP account and I’ve never done Tumblr RP before though I have some narrative RP experience. Any advice for beginners to get our names out there?

//Wow! I’m honored you’re asking me, really!!! ❤

Congratulations and I hope you have FUN and as cliched as that sounds I’m prefacing this with how important that is.  Do what you do with the intent to enjoy yourself, and never let those who have lost sight of the fact that this is a HOBBY suck you into a state of feeling obligated to a certain rate or skill level of reply.  These are people with whom you should not associate.  They do not have a healthy grasp of a balanced lifestyle.  And there are unfortunately a lot of them here, and everywhere on the internet.

That said:

–Go into blog settings and make yourself a few “pages.”  These should include an about section briefly describing your muse; and a rules page (stating what you are and aren’t comfortable with writing, including potentially triggering content).  Some people eventually also make relationship pages describing meaningful relationships between their muse (character) and that of writing partners.  If you make a relationships page, you may want to decide if you are going to be “exclusive” with any muses of canon fandom characters.  Meaning you will not write with other versions of those characters. This can be a sticky issue so talk it out openly with your partners.

–Make your blog eye-catching but also accessible.  No tiny fonts, no graphics that convolute your layout so much that people can’t find your about or rules pages, or your askbox.

–Make, or ask a friend to make, a promo.  You post this as a photoset, with links in the post body to your askbox, rules, about, and verses (if you wish to be “multiverse,” which means you have multiple discrete storylines that don’t overlap, with multiple character relationships, sometimes with duplicates of the same characters.  Most blogs are multiverse because it avoids territorialism and hurt feelings among your partners).

–Communicate, communicate, communicate. Out of character or “ooc,” communicate with your partners constantly, via asks or im’s.  Always be mindful of personal emotions leeching into characterization.  Always be mindful of what you’re comfortable writing. If you don’t like what’s going on in an rp, talk about it privately with your partner. Partners worth having will respect your needs.

–Don’t be discouraged. Fandomless OC’s can take time to get traction.  Post brief “open starters” (meaning short posts that get the ball rolling for action, that many different kinds of characters can approach) and TAG those starters with multiple fandoms that interest you, even though you are fandomless.  It will put you on the radar of lots of different kinds of blogs. Tagging posts on Tumblr is a super strategic way to get noticed.

I hope this helps and you are of course welcome to approach any of my muses for stuff!

Put your iTunes or Spotify on shuffle. What are the first 4 songs that popped up?

  1. End Credits/ Jurassic Park (John Williams)
  2. Wonder Woman’s Wrath/ Rupert Gregson-Williams
  3. Whisper/ Evanescence
  4. O Death/ Jen Titus

Have you ever had a poem or song written about you?

Yes, one a parody of Brown-Eyed Girl for my birthday by my Dad’s songwriter friend, and the other…uh…kind of a creepy incident with a stalker from my church, actually :/

When was the last time you played the guitar?

I have never played it but I play the flute 😀

Who is your celebrity crush?

Tom Hiddleston, John Simm, David Tennant, Jude Law, Richard Speight Jr, Kate McGrath, Gal Gadot, Jodie Whittaker.

What’s a sound you hate and a sound you love?

Sound I hate: I have misophonia SOOO a lot of sounds bother me, chewing, crinkling paper, lawn mowers and edgers/leaf blowers, loud car mufflers, are some of them.

Sound I love: Thunder, rain, sleet, the wind in leaves, ocean or lake tides, a fan.

Do you believe in ghosts?

I believe that there’s a spiritual residue left behind by people and animals who have inhabited particular spaces, as well as their interactions.  I believe that some spaces carry inescapable sensations based on these residues: some joyful and positive, some negative, draining, and sad. I don’t believe ghosts can hurt people but I do believe the emotions left behind can influence people negatively.

How about aliens?

I don’t feel strongly about it except that the universe is unfathomably large so I don’t know how it would be logical to think otherwise.

Do you drive?

Yep!

What was the last book you read?

I’m currently reading, out of morbid curiosity, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and my friends, it is terrible.

What’s the worst injury you’ve had?

Probably an infection of my toe which rapidly became an infection of my leg and sepsis in the hospital because I have Type One Diabetes and it’s shitty like that. Almost lost my leg haha. Ha. And I wish I could say that was an isolated incident!

Do you have any obsessions right now?

I’ve had the same ones for between the past seven and the past four years and that’s unusual for me, I usually absorb something quickly and dump it for the next thing. I think I’m getting old and tired and losing the emotional energy for new crazes, lmao.  Currently on the fringes of Marvel (used to be way into it but then Phase Two and Three happened), on the fringes of Supernatural (all I care about is Castiel and Gabriel tbh, that show is trash now), a lifelong Sherlockian (BBC Sherlock is problematic as fuck though, so all I’m into with that incarnation is Andrew Scott’s Moriarty), and Doctor Who is probably the one I’m most into because it’s the most bearable (thank you Whittaker and Chibnall).

Do you try to hold grudges against people who have done you wrong?

Nope.  I firmly believe it damages you more than it does them.

In a relationship?

Nope :/

//Well it’s Friday night and unfortunately I got violently nauseated about an hour and a half ago, for reasons I can’t fathom, except that on my diet I have to fast for a lot of time between meals sand sometimes an empty stomach doesn’t always work out so well with meds that I take for cholesterol, blood pressure, and depression.

So.  As a result, I had to take anti-emetics which unfortunately cause extreme drowsiness.  And now, I can’t string two words together.

Which means I will probably not be here much until the meds wear off (and they might not before I accidentally fall asleep for the night).  So I’m going to make some popcorn and watch some movies, and, if I can, post some Doctor Who fanart sketches.
